Mr. Guilberto Borongan

Mr. Guilberto Borongan is currently employed as Programme Specialist and Coordinator of the Waste Management Cluster, at the Asian Institute of Technology, Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific (AIT RRC.AP). He has over 15 years of experience on various scales in waste management and 3Rs in developing Southeast and East Asian countries.  He is involved in programme and project development, implementation and management in policy, assessment, and capacity building, particularly focusing on the development of national waste management and 3R strategies and its environmental sustainability in developing Asian countries. He has intensive experience in building capacities for local governments and providing technical assistance to partners at both national and regional levels on waste management. Implemented projects in ASEAN cities aimed at reducing SLCPs in MSW as well as one of the authors and contributors of the Asia Waste Management Outlook. Simultaneously, he is also engaged in regional policy development and advocacy in the context of environment and health particularly in organizing High Level Officials’ meetings.
